The postcard

What's on a ShipNote thank-you postcard

A 4x6 card printed on both sides: your design on the front, your note and the addresses on the back. Here is everything that comes with it.

Size: 4 x 6 inches, the standard USPS postcard size. Fronts are portrait, and the blank card also turns landscape for your own artwork.
Front: Your photo, a collage of two to four photos, or a designed card with no photo. Up to 24 designs for each occasion, most with your names and a date.
Back: Your note, in one of five fonts (Serif, Modern, Handwritten, Script or Elegant), under a header style you pick. Your return address prints on it too.
Personalized: Write the note once. Each card fills in that guest's name and the gift they gave, and you can rewrite any single card before checkout.
Addressed: Each guest's address is printed on their card, and checked against USPS records before you pay.
Postage: USPS First-Class postage is included on every card. We mail to US addresses only.
Mailed: We print and mail your cards the next business day. USPS delivers most in 4–7 business days.
Price: $2.49 a card, or $1.99 a card from 10 cards. No minimum and no subscription.
Our mark: A small "sent via shipnote.co" line prints in a corner of the back. Removing it costs 10 cents a card.

When a thank-you postcard is the right choice

A postcard suits a thank-you that names the gift in a few warm sentences. It is the wrong format for a private letter.

A postcard works when

you want your photo to be the first thing they see
the note is three to five sentences
you are mailing a stack: a postcard stamp is $0.65 against $0.82 for a card in an envelope

Choose a folded card when

the note is private, or mentions a cash amount
you are writing a long letter
the card is going outside the United States, which we don't mail to

4 x 6 inches, which is the size USPS mails at the postcard rate. On the back, your note gets the upper-left block, and the guest's address, your return address, the postage and the postal barcode take the right side and the bottom strip. That fits a note of three to five sentences at a size that is easy to read.

Yes. Upload one photo, or two to four for a collage. Most designs print your names and a date on the front, and most single-photo designs add a headline such as THANK YOU that you can change. If you would rather not use a photo, pick one of the designs made without one.

You write one note, and each card fills in that guest's name and gift from your list. So Aunt Carol's card thanks her for the stand mixer and Jen & Dave's card thanks them for the picture frames. Before checkout you can open any single card and rewrite it.

There is no minimum. One card is $2.49, and 10 or more are $1.99 each, so a batch of 50 wedding thank-yous is $99.50 with postage.
