Getting your list off Amazon
Three steps, about a minute.
Open the "Thank you and returns" tab
On your Amazon registry, click "Thank you and returns" in the top nav. That loads Your Thank You List — every gift bought through Amazon, one row each.
Scroll all the way to the bottom
Amazon loads rows as you scroll, so anything you haven't scrolled past isn't on the page yet — and won't be in your copy.
Select all, copy, paste
Cmd+A then Cmd+C (Ctrl on Windows). Don't tidy it up first — the nav, the filters and the buttons all get thrown away automatically.
Can you export an Amazon registry to a spreadsheet?
Not directly — there is no export button and no CSV download. The Thank You List is a view-only checklist, built for ticking people off rather than for getting the data out. The practical export is to copy the whole page and run the text through something that can pull the people out of it.
This catches people out because every other part of the registry feels like a database. Amazon knows the purchaser, the gift, the date and often the shipping address — it simply never offers them to you in a portable form. Where an address is missing you get a “Why no address?” link rather than the data.
The workarounds people land on are all worse than they sound. Retyping 40 rows takes an evening and introduces the typos that get cards returned. The browser userscript that circulates for this needs an extension installed, developer tools open, and a value copied by hand out of a network request — a real answer for a developer and a dead end for everyone else. Copy-and-paste is the one route that needs nothing but the page you are already looking at.
Why do some givers have no address?
An address appears when the giver shipped the gift directly to you and shared their details. For digital gifts, gift cards, and anything shipped to the giver's own home, Amazon shows a “Why no address?” link instead — and no tool can recover what Amazon never shows.
Gift cards and digital gifts are among the usual reasons, which is why a list with gaps is normal rather than a sign something went wrong. Those people still belong on your list — you just need their address from somewhere else, whether that is your own contacts, the guest list, or asking them.
What do you do with the list once you have it?
Most people use it two ways: as a spreadsheet to track who has been thanked, or as a mailing list to actually send the cards. The data is the same either way — the second just saves you the envelopes.
