Does Vistaprint Mail Postcards for You? Yes, From a List

Yes, Vistaprint mails postcards for you. Its Postcard Mailing Services prints your design, prints each recipient's address on the card from a list you upload or buy, and hands the batch to USPS, which delivers it First Class. It is built for marketing: the page promises to "turn a list of addresses into a line of customers." Nothing on the page limits it to businesses, though, and the order can be small.
What it doesn't do is mail Vistaprint's folded cards, or print a different message on each postcard. For a batch of thank-yous, that second one matters most.
Disclosure: ShipNote is our product and it appears below. Vistaprint's mailing service, prices and rules were checked against its own product and help pages on September 29, 2026.
Will Vistaprint mail my postcards for me?
Yes, through Postcard Mailing Services, and only for postcards. You design one postcard (from a template or your own upload), give Vistaprint an address list, pick your mailing options, and check out. Vistaprint's help center describes it as a service that handles "the printing, addressing and postage of your postcards for you."
The details, from the product page's own FAQ:
- The list. Upload your own on Vistaprint's template (.xlsx, .xls or .csv), buy a local list filtered by area and audience, or reuse a saved one. You can't view a purchased list, and it stays reusable for a year; an uploaded list is saved to your account.
- The postage. USPS sends the cards First Class Mail, "typically taking up to 4 business days."
- The wait. Processing takes up to 7 business days before that, or 2 fewer with rush processing. You can also schedule arrival up to 4 weeks out.
- Not every postcard qualifies. Vistaprint says it can't offer mailing on all its postcard options, because of the printing and addressing process.
Is there a minimum? Barely. The pricing guide started at one postcard. The "Reach 100 to 20,000 potential customers" line on the page describes a list you can buy, not an order minimum.
What do you need before Vistaprint can mail anything?
A finished address list in Vistaprint's format. Its mailing list template has six columns: Recipient, Company, Address, City, State and Zip code. Each row needs a recipient or a company. Vistaprint then checks the list, flags errors, confirms deliverability and adds ZIP+4 where it's missing.
For a business with a customer spreadsheet, that is easy. For 60 wedding guests whose addresses are split across a registry page, a pile of order emails and a group chat, building that sheet is the slow part of the whole job.
And the template has no column for a message. As far as the product page shows, a Vistaprint mailing is one design printed in a quantity, with only the address changing from card to card. That suits a promotion or a "we've moved" card. For a thank-you, it means no card can name the gift.
Where does ShipNote differ from Vistaprint?
ShipNote is built for the batch Vistaprint's template can't hold: thank-yous where each card names the guest and their gift. You paste the list you already have, and we print and mail every postcard, with First-Class postage included.
- Every card names the gift. You write one message with
[RECIPIENT]and[GIFT_NAME]tokens, and each card fills them in from that guest's row, so the stand mixer and the picture frame are each thanked by name. Any single card can be edited on its own before the batch goes out. - Paste instead of formatting a spreadsheet. Paste a registry list, your purchase emails or a spreadsheet as it is, and AI extracts the names, gifts and addresses. US addresses only. Any guest it couldn't address is flagged when you press Next: Review, and a flagged row offers "Don't have their address? Request it with a link".
- Mailed the next business day. Cards go out with First-Class postage included and arrive in 4–7 business days.
- One card costs $2.49, not $10.56. That is ShipNote's price for a single postcard, postage included, against Vistaprint's mailing-service price for one. Ten or more are $1.99 each. There is no account to create.
- Your own photo, if you want it. Photo designs take your upload in place of the sample picture.
Paste your list and start your batch.
What does Vistaprint's mailing service cost?
$55.99 for 50 postcards, or $1.12 each, in Vistaprint's default 4.2 x 5.5 inch size. It gets cheaper per card as the order grows. Vistaprint doesn't list postage as its own line on the product page, and says only that discounts don't apply to "service and postage fees." We priced the published pricing guide and didn't take an order through checkout.
| Service | Each card's message | Your list | All-in per card, with postage | Price checked |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ShipNote | Names each guest and their gift | Paste it as it is | $2.49 one postcard · $1.99 each on 10 or more | Our own rate |
| Vistaprint Postcard Mailing Services | The same on every card | Its six-column template, or a list you buy | $10.56 one postcard · $1.52 each on 25 · $1.12 on 50 · $0.95 on 100 · $0.72 on 500 | Sep 29, 2026 |
| Postable | One message sent to many, with each name filled in (its Carbon Copy tool) | Its free address book, or a link guests fill in | $6.81 one card · $5.41 each on 20 or more (card plus 82¢ stamp) | Sep 29, 2026 |
On price per card for 25 or more identical postcards, Vistaprint's mailing service costs less than ShipNote. What it can't do is thank each guest for a different gift, and a single card costs $10.56 through it. Postable's figures are its own FAQ: $5.99 for one card, $4.59 each on 20 or more, plus the stamp.

What does it cost to mail Vistaprint cards yourself?
About $1.13 a card for 50, once you add shipping and stamps. Vistaprint's standard postcards, 4 x 6 inch and glossy on the front, were $17.99 for 50, $14.99 for 25 (the minimum) and $21.99 for 100. Standard delivery was $5.99, free over $100. Then every card needs a 65¢ postcard stamp and an address written by hand.
| Cards | Vistaprint postcards + $5.99 shipping | Stamps at 65¢ | Per card, mailed by you | ShipNote, mailed for you |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 25 | $20.98 | $16.25 | $1.49 | $1.99 |
| 50 | $23.98 | $32.50 | $1.13 | $1.99 |
| 100 | $27.98 | $65.00 | $0.93 | $1.99 |
That is the cheapest way to get Vistaprint cards into the mail, and the most work: you write every address and every note, and stick on every stamp. Standard delivery quoted October 14 when we checked on September 29, and that is before a single card is written.
Does Vistaprint mail holiday cards?
Not folded ones. Vistaprint's envelope addressing prints your recipients' addresses on the envelopes for free, on custom or white addressed envelopes, but "your addressed envelopes will be shipped to you, ready to stuff and send out." You still seal them and add the stamp: 82¢ for a standard card under an ounce.
A holiday postcard is different: design it yourself, upload it to Postcard Mailing Services, and Vistaprint mails it to your list like any other postcard. ShipNote has a holiday occasion as well, and mails holiday postcards at $1.99 each on 10 or more.
Vistaprint's Every Door Direct Mail postcards are not a mailing service at all. They ship to you bundled in packs of 100, and you take them to the post office, which delivers one to every address on the routes you pick. Vistaprint says the price excludes USPS postage, which you pay at the counter. That is for reaching a neighborhood, not a guest list.
Which other card services mail every card for you?
Postable mails every card as its standard service: a folded card with an envelope, at $4.59 each on 20 or more plus an 82¢ stamp, when we checked on September 29, 2026. The full breakdown is in our Postable comparison.
Shutterfly's Mail for Me addresses, stamps and mails eligible folded cards in plain white envelopes for $1.49 an envelope, postage included, per its own bulk-card guide, on top of the cards; see does Shutterfly mail cards for you. Minted has a similar service, offered only in limited quantities.
Where is Vistaprint the better choice?
For marketing mail. If every card says the same thing and the list is long, Vistaprint's mailing service is cheaper per card, reaches $0.72 a postcard at 500, sells you a local list if you don't have one, and lets you schedule arrival weeks ahead. It also mails five postcard sizes, from 4.2 x 5.5 up to 6 x 9 inches.
- 500 promotional postcards to a customer list or a neighborhood: Vistaprint, through its mailing service or EDDM.
- Thank-yous for 20 to 100 registry gifts, each naming the gift: ShipNote. Paste the list and every card is mailed for you at $1.99 each on 10 or more.
- Client thank-yous from a business: ShipNote's business thank-you cards take your client export and print a card with your logo.
- A few cards, a folded card or a keepsake: Postable mails folded cards; Vistaprint's folded holiday cards come to you to mail.
Frequently asked questions
Does Vistaprint mail postcards for you?
Yes. Vistaprint's Postcard Mailing Services prints your postcard design, prints each recipient's address on it from a list you upload or buy, and hands the cards to USPS, which sends them First Class. Vistaprint's help center says the service handles the postage. It is sold as a marketing product, but nothing on the page limits it to businesses.
Is there a minimum for Vistaprint's postcard mailing service?
Not a high one. Vistaprint's pricing guide for the service started at a single postcard, for $10.56, when we checked on September 29, 2026, then $37.99 for 25 and $55.99 for 50. The "100 to 20,000" figure on the page is the size of an address list you can buy from Vistaprint, not an order minimum. Its regular postcards, which ship to you, start at 25.
Does Vistaprint mail holiday cards?
Not folded holiday cards. Vistaprint prints recipient addresses on the envelopes for free, but the addressed envelopes and cards are shipped to you to stuff, stamp and mail. Only its postcard mailing service mails straight to your list, so a holiday postcard can be mailed for you and a folded card in an envelope cannot.
Can each Vistaprint mailed postcard have a different message?
Not that we could find. Vistaprint's mailing list template has six columns, for recipient, company, address, city, state and ZIP code, and none for a message, so every card in a mailing carries the same design and words. ShipNote fills each guest's name and gift into one template message, so every card thanks that guest for their own gift.
How long does Vistaprint's postcard mailing take?
Vistaprint says processing takes up to 7 business days, or 2 fewer with rush processing, and that USPS First Class then typically takes up to 4 business days. You can also schedule arrival up to 4 weeks out. ShipNote mails the next business day, and cards arrive in 4 to 7 business days.
