Walmart's baby and wedding registries are popular for the same reason Walmart is — reliable prices on the basics. The thank-you flow, predictably, is bare-bones: a list of names, a list of gifts, no built-in mailing service, and no address-sharing.

This is the version that doesn't suck. Fifteen minutes from "I should really do this" to "every postcard is in the mail."

TL;DR

  • Sign in to walmart.comRegistries → select your baby or wedding registry
  • Open the Purchases tab — every gift, with giver name and date
  • Walmart's tracker typically doesn't surface mailing addresses, so pull yours from your shower or wedding invite list
  • Paste the registry into ShipNote — our AI parser extracts names and gifts in one pass
  • Pick a postcard layout (baby or wedding designs supported), write one template, confirm the batch
  • We print, stamp, and mail every card next business day — $1.99 each on orders of 10+, all-in

How does ShipNote compare to other ways to mail Walmart thank-yous?

Here's the time math for the fastest way to mail Walmart registry thank-you cards — typical 50-recipient baby-shower or wedding batch:

Method Total time Cost per card (mailed) Addressing Postage
Handwriting + bought stationery + stamps 5–10 hours ~$5.25 DIY DIY
Spreadsheet + photo lab + envelopes + stamps 2–4 hours ~$3.30 DIY DIY
Printed photo cards (Shutterfly, Minted) + manual addressing + stamps 2–4 hours ~$3.00 DIY DIY
ShipNote postcards from your Walmart registry 15 minutes $1.99 Included Included

Every ShipNote postcard includes the printed card, addressing, USPS first-class postage, and next-business-day mailing. No envelopes, no separate stamps, no add-ons.

Step 1: How do I open my Walmart registry's gift tracker?

  1. Go to walmart.com and sign in.
  2. Click Account (top right) → Registries.
  3. Select your baby or wedding registry.
  4. Open the Purchases tab (sometimes labeled "Gift Tracker" depending on your view).

You'll see a row for every gift purchased through Walmart, with the giver's name and the date the gift shipped or was received. The wedding-registry view and the baby-registry view are essentially the same; the difference is mostly in the recommended-product carousels.

Step 2: What does Walmart's gift tracker show me?

Each row shows:

  • Gift — the item, with quantity if multiple were purchased
  • Giver name — the purchaser's name from checkout
  • Date — when the gift was received or shipped

What Walmart's tracker typically doesn't show is the giver's address — same situation as Target's registry, where addresses also aren't surfaced. (Most big-box retailers play it the same way.) You'll fill those in from your own guest list in the next step.

Step 3: Where do I get mailing addresses for Walmart thank-yous?

You almost certainly already have these somewhere:

  • Your shower or wedding invitation spreadsheet — most common
  • Your invitation vendor (Minted, Paperless Post, Zola, The Knot, Joy) — most store addresses indefinitely
  • A shared Google Doc from event planning
  • Your wedding website's RSVP tool if it collected addresses

Pull the file and have it open in another tab. ShipNote's recipient screen accepts pasted addresses and lets you fill missing ones inline — they save to your account's address book for next time, so you only do this exercise once.

Step 4: How do I copy my Walmart registry into ShipNote?

Once you have the Purchases tab open:

  • Cmd+A (Mac) or Ctrl+A (Windows) to select the page
  • Cmd+C or Ctrl+C to copy

Don't try to clean it up. The raw paste is what ShipNote's AI parser is built for.

Head to ShipNote's customize flow and start a new batch. On the Thankees step, paste the Walmart registry into the "Add from registry" box and click Extract with AI.

Within a few seconds the parser will:

  • Extract every giver's name
  • Match each name to the gift they sent
  • Flag rows that need an address (which will be most of them, given Walmart's policy)
  • Surface duplicate gifts to the same person if they bought multiples

ShipNote Thankees screen showing recipients extracted from a Walmart registry, each marked Ready with name, address, and gift filled in

For each recipient missing an address, paste from your guest-list file. You can batch-paste a structured list (name + address) and ShipNote will merge it with the gift list automatically.

If you have a second Walmart registry (one for the shower, one for the wedding, or wedding + baby), paste them sequentially. ShipNote merges and deduplicates so anyone who gave to both gets exactly one card.

Step 5: Pick a postcard for your event

ShipNote covers both Walmart use cases:

  • Walmart Baby Registry — soft pastel, milestone, polaroid postcard layouts, with baby-photo support
  • Walmart Wedding Registry — magazine, polaroid, split-color photo layouts

Upload your photo, write one template message with [name] and [gift] placeholders, and the live preview updates as you go.

Step 6: How quickly will my Walmart thank-you cards arrive?

Confirm the batch and pay. $1.99 per postcard on 10+ recipients, all-in:

  • The postcard itself, printed on glossy stock
  • Addressing
  • USPS first-class postage
  • Next-business-day mailing

Most baby showers and weddings clear the 10-recipient threshold easily. We mail every card the next business day; recipients receive them in 4–7 days nationwide.

Paste your Walmart registry into ShipNote → First batch ships next business day. From $1.99 per card. No subscription.

Common Walmart thank-you questions

Does Walmart share guest addresses?

Walmart's gift tracker typically shows the gift, the giver's name, and the date — but not the giver's mailing address. You'll match names to addresses from your own guest list. ShipNote saves the addresses you add to your account's address book for future cards.

What if I'm already months past the etiquette window?

Send the cards anyway — late thank-yous always beat no thank-yous. We have the full late-thank-you playbook covering three months, six months, a year, and longer, plus the year-later wording deep-dive for the twelve-months-out cohort. Walmart's gift tracker keeps purchase history indefinitely, so you can backfill anytime.

Why aren't my group gifts showing?

Group-gift tracking varies by retailer; Walmart's tracker captures items as they ship to you. If a gift was bought outside Walmart's group-gift flow (e.g., people pooling money privately), it won't appear in the tracker. Add those recipients to ShipNote manually — anyone who chipped in deserves a card.

Can I combine a Walmart wedding registry with a Walmart baby registry?

Yes — though it's an unusual combo (different events, usually different timing). Paste each one and ShipNote merges them into a single batch with duplicate detection.

Can I combine Walmart with other registries (Amazon, Babylist, Target)?

Absolutely. Paste each one into ShipNote and we merge with duplicate detection.

What if some gifts came from off-Walmart purchases?

Add those givers manually in ShipNote. The parser is great at extracting structured registry data, but anyone who bought outside the Walmart registry won't appear in the tracker — you'll have those names from your shower/wedding records.

Where can I find a more detailed Walmart walkthrough?

We keep the always-current step-by-step guide on the Walmart registry thank-you page, including notes on combining baby + wedding batches.
