How to Send Christmas Cards to Clients (2026 Price Guide)

Who goes on a business holiday card list, beside two holiday photo postcards from a sample company

To send Christmas cards to clients, export your client list, pick one card with your logo, write one message every card shares, and have a service print, address and mail them. ShipNote does the printing, addressing and mailing for $1.99 a card on 10 or more, postage included. You can order today and pick the day the cards mail. It was the lowest per card of the six services we priced that mail business holiday cards at a published price.

We read every competitor price on the company's own site on October 22, 2026, at list price with no promo codes. ShipNote is our product, and this page compares it with the services businesses price it against.

Who should be on a client Christmas card list?

Anyone whose business you want next year: clients from the past year or two, the people who refer clients to you, and the vendors and partners you rely on. For a real estate agent that is past buyers and sellers plus their sphere. For an accountant or advisor it is the client roster. For a contractor it is last season's jobs.

The list is usually already in your CRM or billing software. Export it as a CSV or Excel file with a name and a mailing address on each row. Two things to fix before you order:

  • Missing addresses. A client you only know by email needs a postal address. Our guide to getting addresses for Christmas cards covers the tools for asking. On ShipNote, each person missing one gets their own link to type it in, and you see when it arrives.
  • Duplicates. Two contacts at the same company, or a couple entered twice, means two cards to one mailbox. Decide whether each person gets a card or each office does.

Should a business card say Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays?

For a mixed client list, Happy Holidays or Season's Greetings. Save Merry Christmas for a list you know celebrates it. A third choice is a Happy New Year card mailed in early January: it reaches every client, it skips the December pile, and it is the only option left once the Christmas cut-off has passed.

On ShipNote the greeting is a line you type on the logo designs and most photo designs, so the same card can say any of the three. The business holiday cards page shows which designs carry your logo and which carry a photo.

What companies send Christmas cards for you?

ShipNote, Hallmark Business, Wall Street Greetings, Brookhollow, CardsDirect, Postable and The Gallery Collection all address and mail business holiday cards. With the mailing fee and the stamp added, ShipNote was the lowest per card on 50 and on 100. The others ran from $2.96 to $5.41 a card. Vistaprint prints cheaply but leaves the stamping and mailing to you.

Company and card All-in per card, mailed What the mailing costs Card price, minimum
ShipNote, postcard with your logo $1.99 on 50 · $1.99 on 100 Included: addressing, First-Class postage, mailing $1.99 a card on 10 or more, no minimum
Hallmark Business, folded card $3.22 on 50 · $2.96 on 100 82¢ postage plus 15¢ to address each envelope $2.25 on 50, $1.99 on 100; minimum 25
Wall Street Greetings, folded card $4.21 on 50 · $4.00 on 100 $1.61 a card, addresses and postage included $2.60 on 50, $2.39 on 100; minimum 25
Brookhollow, folded card $4.41 on 50 · $4.14 on 100 $1.37 a card, plus an 82¢ stamp $2.22 on 50, $1.95 on 100; minimum 10
CardsDirect, folded card $5.39 on 50 · $5.02 on 100 $1.37 a card, plus an 82¢ stamp $3.20 on 50, $2.83 on 100; minimum 10
Postable, folded card $5.41 on 50 · $5.41 on 100 Mailing in the card price, plus an 82¢ stamp $4.59 a card on 20 or more; no minimum

On 50 or on 100 cards, ShipNote's $1.99 was the lowest all-in price of every service in the table that mails the cards.

Each figure is the company's own list price on October 22, 2026, for a standard business or corporate holiday design at 50 and 100 cards, with no promo code or sitewide sale applied. We added what it takes to get the card into the mail: the company's addressing and mailing fee, and an 82¢ Forever stamp wherever that fee leaves postage out. Hallmark Business's "Mail on my Behalf" charges the 82¢ postage itself, and Wall Street Greetings' $1.61 includes it. Postable's per-card rate covers the mailing but not the stamp, per its FAQ. Wall Street Greetings charges 20¢ a card more to print your logo, name or message on the card, which its row leaves out; Hallmark Business prints a logo and message free. The Gallery Collection offers full mail services but publishes no fee for them, so it has no row. None of the figures include shipping the cards to you, which mailed orders don't need.

Which client holiday card service should you choose?

For a list of 50 to 100 clients you want mailed for you, ShipNote at $1.99 a card, postage included, is 97 cents a card under the next service that mails them on 100 cards, and $1.23 under it on 50. The difference is the format: ShipNote mails a postcard, with each client's name and address printed on the back, not a folded card in an envelope.

Where another company is the better choice:

  • You want a folded card in an envelope, mailed for you. Hallmark Business was the lowest of those, at $2.96 a card on 100 with postage and addressing, and it adds a printed return address for 10¢ more.
  • You want to sign every card by hand. Vistaprint prints a 5x7 card for $1.30 on 100 and addresses its printed envelopes free. You sign, stamp and mail them yourself, for $2.12 a card all-in before any envelope upgrade.
  • You want a premium folded card. The Gallery Collection sells foil-enhanced logo cards, and Wall Street Greetings and Hallmark Business offer foil-lined envelopes. A postcard has no envelope to line.

When should you mail Christmas cards to clients?

In the first two weeks of December, so the cards land before the holiday mail backs up. A card that arrives on December 23 competes with every other card on the desk, and an office closed for the holidays may not open it until January.

You don't have to order in December to mail in December. At ShipNote checkout, pick "On a date I choose" and the cards are held and mailed that day, up to 90 days out. Nothing prints early, and you can cancel from your order page for a full refund until noon ET the business day before. To arrive by Christmas Eve, the last day to order is December 14, 2026.

A New Year card works the other way round. On ShipNote it is set to mail on the first Monday after January 2, so it arrives once the holiday pile has cleared.

Are Christmas cards to clients tax deductible?

IRS Publication 463 does not mention greeting cards, so the answer depends on how your accountant classifies them. The publication's rules for business gifts are the part people quote. The 2025 edition, read on irs.gov on October 22, 2026, says:

  • The $25 limit: "You can deduct no more than $25 for business gifts you give directly or indirectly to each person during your tax year."
  • Mailing is left out of the $25: "Incidental costs, such as engraving on jewelry, or packaging, insuring, and mailing, are generally not included in determining the cost of a gift for purposes of the $25 limit."
  • The $4 exception: an item that "costs $4 or less" and "has your name clearly and permanently imprinted on the gift" and "is one of a number of identical items you widely distribute" isn't a gift for the $25 limit. The IRS's examples are pens, desk sets, and plastic bags and cases.

Accounting firms classify holiday cards differently, some as stationery or advertising rather than gifts, and Google's AI answer to this question said both on two loads we read. What the rules do say: the $25 is per person for the whole tax year, and mailing generally doesn't count toward it. A card costing a few dollars is far under the cap on its own; it adds up only with whatever gifts that client also gets from you that year. Ask your accountant how to book it. We are a card company, not tax advisers.

Frequently asked questions

How do you send Christmas cards to clients?

Export your client list from your CRM, choose one card with your logo or company name, write one message that every card shares, and have the cards printed, addressed and mailed for you. On ShipNote that is $1.99 a card on 10 or more, postage included, and you can order now and pick the day the cards mail.

How many clients should get a holiday card?

Every client you'd like to work with again, plus the people who send you referrals. Trim the people who have moved on, not the ones you're unsure about: at a few dollars a card, leaving off a client who would have hired you again costs more than the card.

Can I put my logo on a client Christmas card?

Yes. On ShipNote, upload your logo when you customize the front, and every logo design prints it. The business holiday cards page shows its logo designs with a sample logo in place.

Should I sign business Christmas cards by hand?

A handwritten signature reads as personal, and it means mailing the cards yourself or paying a service that machine-writes them. A printed card that greets each client by name and signs off with your company is the fast option, and the one most mailing services offer.

Is it too late to send Christmas cards to clients?

For Christmas, after December 14, 2026 on ShipNote. After that, send a Happy New Year card: it arrives in early January and reads as on time.
